I hope that you are having a wonderful start to 2019! This year is looking very different for me than years in the past. I have cut back on the amount of work that I am taking so that I can be home with my little lady (for the most part). Don't worry though - I am still taking clients, just limiting the amount of time I have to be away :)
I've been trying to think of some creative ways to put more energy into blogging and developing my business. I realized that I always see tutorials on "five minute makeup looks", but thought it would be fun to put a little spin on that. It can be overwhelming to know what products you need on a day-to-day basis so I thought I would show you some creative ways to use minimal products and still achieve a great makeup look.
This one is a little out there, but I was wearing red so I went with it.
Here is what I used:
1. Jane Iredale GlowTime BB Cream "BB4"
I love this product so much because it applies easily and can give you anything from sheer to full coverage depending on what mood you are in. I didn't want my face to be too heavy for this look, so I used a fluffy brush to blend it to medium coverage.
2. Antonym Cosmetics Highlighting Baked Blush "Cheek Crush"
If you're wondering why my compact is so dirty, its because I am addicted to this product and I use it almost every day. If you are a person who doesn't really understand how to apply highlighter, but want a natural glow, this is what you need. One or two swipes with a fan brush and you are on your way.
3. Ecobrow Brow Gel "Sharon"
Someday my five product tutorials will hopefully not require a brow product to be one of the five, but the lack of sleep and stress of having a four month old have left me with a giant bald spot in my left brow. I pull my hairs out. I know - It's a habit I really need to kick. If you have patches in you brows with missing hair, Ecobrow is awesome because it has a lot of pigment and sticks to your skin as well as your hair.
4. Fitglow Goodlash + Serum and Mascara in One
I decided to try this mascara because I had heard great things about it and Citrine started carrying the line while I was on maternity leave. I really love the formula. It is voluminous and stays well without bleeding below my eyes.
5. RMS Wild With Desire Lipstick "Firestarter"
On a day where I just don't feel like I can get it together, a bold lip usually does the trick. It's like a bandaid for waking up on the wrong side if the bed. This neon orange-red is one of my favorites. I used it on my lips and then took a liner brush and applied a pop of color to my lower lash line. It actually lasted pretty darn well!
Hopefully this will inspire you to try something new and not feel pressured to buy every product on the market. Quality over quantity, right? Unless you just love shopping for makeup - I know I do! Speaking of shopping... everything I used for this look can be purchase at Citrine Natural Beauty Bar (in-store or online)!
Happy (Belated) New Year,
